Soundview Landing

Norwalk CT

Soundview Landing consists of 273 rental units in five buildings on three adjacent parcels in South Norwalk, CT. The project is the culmination of a multi-phase redevelopment effort to revitalize the 136-unit Washington Village public housing property into a mixed-income community consisting of 136 new public housing units, 72 workforce units, and 65 unrestricted market-rate units. All 273 units are high-quality and indistinguishable from one another, and the diverse mix of unit types are spread throughout the property. The redevelopment also contains multiple amenity spaces.

The project is a HUD Choice Neighborhood Initiative driven by a partnership of the Norwalk Housing Authority, the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency, and Trinity to benefit the existing Washington Village residents and the broader neighborhood. Financing for Soundview has been provided by HUD, CT Housing Finance Agency, CT Department of Housing, CT Department of Economic and Community Development, the City of Norwalk, the Norwalk Housing Authority, and private lenders/equity providers. It has been the catalyst for new development of all types in the neighborhood, including market-rate housing, a hotel, and improved public amenities.
